The magnificent splendor of the temple’s design was shown to Christ immediately after he had warned of Jerusalem’s desolation, as though to move him. We pray in the name of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Guide us in our study of Jesus’ warnings of temporal judgment and tribulation for the people of Jerusalem and His warning of the Great Tribulation all mankind will face before His Second Advent. Paul’s warning to work out our salvation with fear and trembling “not fear of You our loving Father, but fear of offending You and the consequences of mortal sin. Give us the grace to accept Your redemptive temporal judgments that are meant to call us to repentance and to renewed fellowship with You, Lord. The soul You have given man is immortal, but whether or not we spend our immortality in Your divine Presence is a choice that we make. You have promised us, Lord, that the end of this earthly existence is not the end of life.
